Once a provisional license is awarded by the Department of Commerce or Board of Pharmacy, training will be provided by Metrc to the provisional licensees as they work toward receiving a Certificate of Operation. Training will be required as part of establishing compliance with the inventory tracking system, which is required for a Certificate of Operation to be issued. A Metrc training class should only be scheduled when the Provisional Licensee is within 60-days of their final inspections. Please utilize the Schedule Training above, Metrc will provide weekly New Business training classes every Monday from 2:00 – 4:00 PM ET. Please check back when Advanced Training Classes will be provided.

There are two costs associated with Metrc’s “seed-to-sale” inventory tracking system: (1) A monthly, $40 licensing fee for each licensee (i.e. cultivator, processor, testing laboratory, and dispensary), and (2) the costs associated with the procurement of plant and package tags from Metrc.

Metrc is a completely web-hosted system. That means that all access to Metrc is done via the internet and only requires an internet connection and a web browser. No additional hardware is required, and there is no software to download, install, or maintain. Bar-code and RFID readers are optional. A decision to buy such additional equipment is up to the individual licensee.
