Metrc serves as the track-and-trace system for the U.S. Virgin Islands’ regulated cannabis program, ensuring compliance and transparency. Following the decriminalization of medical cannabis in 2019 and adult-use cannabis in 2023, the territory has established a structured framework to promote safe, compliant, and equitable access. The Office of Cannabis Regulation (OCR), the regulatory agency with executive authority responsible for Cannabis, oversees licensing, compliance, and public education for medical, sacramental, and adult use. By prioritizing public health, safety, and economic growth, the USVI is fostering a responsible and transparent cannabis industry for residents and stakeholders alike.
